Gendarmerie, members of the "Specialised Anti-Corruption Squad" arrived at the Petrich District Police Station on November 4. The traffic in the area was cordoned off by police officers. The streets "Al. Stamboliyski" and "Hristo Botev", which are located in the area of the police station, were closed to tarffic for motor vehicles and pedestrians.
Earlier today, the head of Petrich police was detained in connection with an investigation into misuse and corrupt practices. Besides the Petrich police chief, five other people have been detained, the Ministry of Interior said.

The national police and the Directorate for Control of Hazardous Means are involved in the raid. The investigation is being supervised by the Prosecutor's office in Blagoevgrad.
At the same time, a raid is underway targeting drugs distribution in Sandanski. So far it has not been reported how many people have been detained.
