From November 1 to November 30, a total of 654 specialized police operations were conducted in the country.
Some 69,366 vehicles were checked, which is by 15,707 more than last year. Of all the vehicle malfunctions reported, 1,718 were lighting and signaling malfunctions, 371 vehicles were with torn or worn tires, 181 bicycles were malfunctioning and 136 cases of problems with windscreen washers were identiofied.
More than 43,000 drivers have been fined for various offenses since the beginning of November when the Traffic Police's "Winter" campaign began.
Traffic police released data related to checks in the period around the students’ holiday. There are no serious traffic accidents involving deaths. From December 6 to December 9, 222 specialized police operations were carried out, of which 188 were for road safety. In the days of the operation, 8 road accidents were registered with participants in students’ holiday celebrations, in which 6 were injured.
The checks identified 40 drivers sitting behind the wheel after alcohol and 12 after drug use. The operation also identified sppeding drivers, including a case of driving in a stllement with 151 km/h with a limit of 50 km/h and a driver on Trakia motorway driving at 194 km h.
