The crodsssroad at Sitnyakovo Blvd. and Shipchenski Prohod Blvd. in front of the Romanian Embassy in Sofia is now free for traffic. Protesters last night (August 13) blocked traffic in the area with tents, wooden grills and old tires.
According to protesters, at 5.00 am the gendarmerie with more than 20 cars came to the crossroad and removed the tents and all the items from the barricade.
According to protesters, there was tension with the police. Several members of the public had their ID cards taken. There were also provocateurs - two young people burst the tires of a bus in the area of the crossroad.
Three metropolitan crossroads remain blocked to traffic - at Sofia Univesrsity, at Orlov Most (Eagles’ Bridge) and on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. The protesters' demands remain unchanged - the resignation of the government and the Chief Prosecutor.
