Poverty line in Bulgaria in 2020 will be 363 BGN

The poverty line in Bulgaria in 2020 will be 363 BGN, which is by 15 BGN more than in 2019, the government decided on October 31. The amount is determined on the basis the Methodology for Estimation of Poverty Line.

The amount is calculated on the basis of the poverty line determined by the EU-SILC survey and the price index of the basket of minimum essential consumption items.

The poverty line is used as a reference value in the formation of social policy in the area of income and living standards of the population, in the formation of specific measures for social protection and is the basis for determining the size of financial support for people with disabilities.
