A short circuit left half of Sofia without public transport in the afternoon on 22nd of December.
The reason was a cable break in Sofia's electric transport grid, which caused a fire in the substations of CEZ "Vitoshka" and "Pencho Slaveikov". There were huge traffic jams. The breakdown resulted in power outages in 3 residential areas in Sofia: Lozenets, Ivan Vazov and Krasno Selo. Electricity distribution company CEZ said power supply will be restored within minutes.
Urban Mobility Centre said traffic is also disrupted as some traffic lights are not working.
There were traffic delays in the afternoon, but the movement of trolley buses has already been restored.
