Sonya Momchilova specialized in public relations and communications in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, the United States and Belgium in the period 2001-2006. She is the author of advertising and election campaigns, an expert in political, media and corporate communications.

Sonya Momchilova was director of the press centre of the Ministry of Justice, director of the press centre of the Ministry of Interior, director of the press centre of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. She is the head of the government's press office in the second caretaker government, appointed by President Rumen Radev.

Sonya Momchilova will replace Ivelina Dimitrova, who resigned as a member of the media regulator.
