You all see that Bulgaria has woken up. We are experiencing purification, because after years of lies and humiliation, Bulgarians speak the truth openly, with courage and dignity. There is only one way out - the resignation of the government and the Chief Prosecutor, and early elections. Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said on July 24 in Veliko Turnovo, where he is at a solemn ceremony at the Vasil Levski National Military University.
The President said he disapproved of the reshuffle in the government and described it as an attempt to gain time, from which Bulgaria is losing.
"We must make sure that we have a government which main priority is the security and prosperity of the Bulgarian people, not the interests of business circles. A government that is transparent, responsible and accountable to the Bulgarian citizens. I take the side of the people, I want to see a government that imposes and is an example of legitimacy and observance of the Constitution, not trampling them. A government that makes meaningful reforms, modernises the country and integrates us into Europe, not taking us away from Europe. This is what I want to see, and that is why we will all fight - whatever necessary constitutional and legal changes need to be made – they should be made," he said.
The President also said that there is a strong civic will, and the political will is born from it.
