There was some tension in the protesters’ camp at Orlov Most square Friday morning. It was caused by a conflict between a protester and an elderly woman with a stick whose remarks were defined by the campers as provocation.
In a statement by GERB the ruling party declares that the woman is not and has never been member of the party but it is her right to express personal opinion.
The protester involved in the arguing was arrested after he threw water on the woman. The man was PR officer to Dessislava Ivancheva - former mayor of Mladost, one of the largest districts in Sofia. (Ivancheva has been charged with bribery many people think that unfair and a political act of revenge).
Protesters have been refusing to take off the blockade on the key crossroad at Orlov Most for a third day.
Earlier today efforts by municipality representatives to negotiate with protesters on the blockades take off failed. Protesters rejected the option of partial take off. They claim that both squares – “Nezavissimost” at the Triangle of Power and “Orlov Most” – will remain blocked until their demands are met.
