With 100% of the ballots processed, the Bulgarian Central Election Commission said on 14th of November that the socialist backed candidate Rumen Radev secured a convincing victory in Presidential elections with 59,37 %. The centre-right GERB’s candidate Tsetska Tsacheva, received 36,16 % of the votes.
With 100% processed ballots, the results of the two candidates are as follows:
Rumen Radev (nominated by initiative committee, but backed by the Bulgarian Socialist Party) - 59,37 % = 2, 063, 032 people
Tsetska Tsacheva (nominated by the centre-right GERB party) - 36,16 % = 1,256,480 people
4,47 % = 155,398 people chose the option “I do not support anyone”
Voter turnout at the second round of the Presidential elections was 49,70 % (3,432,693 people) which could not reach the record high levels from the first round on 6th of November.
Voter turnout of the Bulgarians voting outside Bulgaria was 87.11% (108,136 people).
Rumen Radev won in all 28 districts of the country, in 19 of which he gained an overwhelming victory of more than 60% of the votes. The largest support for him was in Targovishte district (70.42%) and the lowest support (53.82%) was in The Black sea coastal district of Varna, where Tsetska Tsacheva secured more than 40.90% of the votes.
Rumen Radev won most of the votes outside Bulgaria, where 52.24% (54,447 people) voted for him, while Tsetska Tsacheva received 43.52% (45,356 people) of the support of the Bulgarians abroad.
Similarly to the results from the first round, Tsacheva won the largest share of votes of the Bulgarians voting in Turkey, while Radev won the largest share of votes of the Bulgarian voting in the UK, the USA and Germany.
The Central Election Commission will announce the official results from the Presidential elections Tuesday, 15th of November.
