Foreign policy, economic revival, and infrastructure are seen as successful, while lack of results in the fight against corruption, crime and uncertainty make the public approval drop, results of a poll by Alfa Research revelas on 26th of September.
Support for the government remains largely unchanged, at 21%, but it is accompanied by an increase in the share of its opponents from 33% in June to 38% now, the survey shows.
Six months after the beginning of the government’s term of office, the positive ratings for Prime Minister Boyko Borisov remain 32% against the negative 39%.
Among the ministers, Tomislav Donchev is the most approved, followed by Krassimir Karakachanov and Krasen Kralev. At the bottom of the table is Justice Minister Tsetska Tsacheva.
According to the survey, President Roumen Radev still enjoys the approval of the majority of the Bulgarians - 54% approval against 13% disapproval. He was elected on a ticket backed by the Bulgarian Socialist Party. However, poll’s result shows that right-wing voters withdraw support for him.
The gap between major parties remains unchanged. GERB would receive 25.1% of electoral support, followed by BSP by 19.3%, United Patriots have 5.9%, which is down compared to the support in June. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms is in fourth place, at 4.8 %.
If parliamentary elections in Bulgaria were held today, Vesselin Mareshki’s populist Volya party would have 1.8% support, which is below the electoral threshold of 4%.
The poll was carried out by Alpha Research, between 13 and 20 September, through in-person interviews with 1,030 adults.
