Bourgas region on September 29 reported record number of new Covid-19 cases. A total of 64 people were registered for a day. 49 of them being workers in a textile factory in the town of Aytos. The wards in the seaside town are full.
The new outbreak of the infection in Bourgas is in a sewing workshop in the industrial zone of Aytos. 49 workers tested positive.
After complete disinfection, the workshop remains closed and all 75 employees are under house quarantine.
The infected are from Aytos and 25 people from the village of Zaichar, Rousse district, where only the places for public catering stopped working. The settlement will not be under complete lockdown.
"In my opinion, quarantine and compliance with the measures - wearing masks can do the most work. Absolutely everyone who is in contact with these people, ie their families will be quarantined," said the director of the regional health inspectorate in Bourgas Dr. Georgi Pazderov.
As of today, September 29, the hospital in Aytos has opened a COVID ward due to the increase in the number of infected people.
"The internal diseases ward at the hospital in Aytos, which has 25 beds becomes a COVID ward. There are members of the medical staff with positive tests for coronavirus infection. These are two nurses, a doctor and a nurse, which makes our work extremely difficult, " Dr. Parush Parushev, director of the local hospital.
A request for the opening of more COVID wards has been sent to the Ministry of Health and the Mayor of Bourgas.
“The lung diseases hospital, which has 27 patients at the moment, the state university hospital, which has 17 patients, and in order not to overload the two hospitals - the municipal and the state, we asked through the RHI management to increase the number of health facilities," said the mayor of Bourgas, Dimitar Nikolov.
Two private hospitals have responded to the request, which makes 5 medical establishments that will treat patients with coronavirus.
