A school in the coastal city of Varna was closed for disinfection after a teacher tested positive for coronavirus. All pupils that were in contact with the teacher are under quarantine and will study online.
Separate cases of confirmed coronavirus were reported in 3 other schools in the city.
The head of the school , Stela Petrova: It happened, unfortunately. Some parents reacted negatively. We are doing everything we can for the safety and the health of our students.
The school explained they have fulfilled all hygienic measures to prevent the virus. Pupils and teachers were made aware of the measures on the first day of the new academic year.
The nurse of the school explained that the measures include disinfection, requirement for wearing masks, taking temperature, physical distancing. "Although, it is a bit difficult to achieve that in a school," she said.
The pupils who were in contact with the infected teacher will be under quarantine, but their parents will not.
The rest of the students will go back to the classrooms.
