Senior Tax Official Shot in His Car in Sofia

A senior official of Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency (NRA) was shot in his car in the centre of Sofia on 18^th of December. The 43-year-old man was shot in the right shoulder, near the chest.

Large blood vessels were affected, BNT sources said. The tax officer was taken to the Military Medical Academy for treatment.

Police have taken action to clarify the circumstances. The area is zoned off.

Ivo Tsvetkov, who is the Head of Fiscal Control Department in the revenue agency was shot about 8.40 in the morning. According to the police, the shot was pointed at the windshield of the car. Witnesses say they heard a high pitched sound, as if from a firecracker. According to unofficial information, the shots were three.
