At the opening ceremony of the Bulgarian Presidency, the Speaker of Bulgaria’s Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva said she was confident that Bulgaria’s presidency will be successful and will be a key driver of EU's agenda tasks for the next 6 months.
“We will continue to encourage the Bulgarian government in its role of a fair and neutral mediator between EU Member States in order to achieve specific results on strategic European priorities, both within the six-month period of the presidency and in the context of the 18 months of the trio: Bulgaria, Estonia and Austria, Karayancheva said. She added that the Bulgarian parliamentary dimension will follow the guiding principle of the presidency for solidarity and unity.
