Taxi drivers protested outside Sofia Municipality on 21st of December. They demand an increase in the minimum price per km to 1 BGN, which is a 25% increase from the current rate. Currently, taxi companies offer their services for 0.80 BGN in the day and 0.90 BGN per kilometre at night.
According to the protesting taxi drivers, the service they offer currently costs twice less than the cost of a public transport ticket.
