Code yellow weather alert was issued on 30 December for 8 districts in Bulgaria because of strong winds. The wind speed is expected to reach 25 metres per second. According to the forecast, the dangerous weather will affect the whole Eastern and parts of Southern Bulgaria. There is a risk of black ice particularly at higher altitudes.
The three ports in the coastal city of Bourgas are closed due to the strong winds. Six ships are waiting off shore. There is a possibility of rough seas.
