“There Is Such a People”: It is too early to be optimistic or pessimistic

We will refrain from commenting until the official results are announced, Ivaylo Valchev from "There is Such a People" told media after the end of polls in April 2 early parliamentary elections.

According to Gallup International's exit poll at 20.00, "There is Such a People" party is at the borderline of the 4% electoral threshold to gain seats in Parliament.

"It's too early to be optimistic or pessimistic, you know there are dynamics in the results. We are realists, we know that with the share of the votes we got, the party cannot govern. Plus, we have the experience and the knowledge that in Bulgaria if you don't reach an agreement with the others that you need, even winning the elections doesn't give you the opportunity to govern."

Valchev declined to comment on coalition options before the winner in the elections is clear, but said, "It is important what tone for communication will be set by those who will win."

"We want to have a working parliament with a government that does not express any narrow interests, but in this complicated situation for Bulgaria and Europe, to make sure that Bulgaria is stable and people feel calm in their daily lives."

TISP are not surprised by their result, Ivaylo Valchev added.
