The Grand Final of the 2016 Eurovision song contest will take place tonight, 14th of May in Stockholm’s Globe Arena, Sweden. Bulgaria will be represented by the singer Poli Genova and the song “If Love Was а Crime”.
Bulgaria reached the Eurovision final once before, back in 2007 with Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankulov and their entry “Water”. That year, they took 5th place in the final.
As per the official Eurovision rules, viewers in all countries taking part in the contest are invited to vote via the official app, telephone and/or SMS. The application can be downloaded from app.eurovision.tv. Phone numbers will be shown on screen during broadcast.
Viewers in the United Kingdom will be allowed to vote only via telephone (shown on the screen during the broadcast) and via the application app.eurovision.tv.
More information on the voting for the Bulgarian act is available at:
According to the voting requirements, the viewers are not allowed to vote for the song representing their own country. Therefore, it will not be possible for viewers in Bulgaria to vote for the Bulgarian song, but it will be possible for all the other countries to vote for it.
All Bulgarians in the countries allowed to vote will have the possibility to cast their vote for the Bulgarian entry “If Love Was a Crime” and Poli Genova.
The voting window opens after the last song has been performed, and ends 40 minutes later.
26 songs will participate in the Grand Final, and professional juries in each of the 42 countries, voted on yesterday's dress rehearsal. They accounted for 50% of the overall total.
Tonight the remaining 50% of the votes will be decided by the public televote in all 42 countries. These votes will be added to those of the juries to determine the 2016 winner of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Grand Final of 2016 Eurovision song contest will be broadcast live on BNT1 and BNT HD at 22:00 local time.
For the first time ever, it will be shown live on TV in the United States of America and China.
