ABV and Movement 21, two left-wing parties, signed a coalition agreement on 3rd of February to run together in the 26th of March early parliamentary elections. The two co-chairs, Konstantin Prodanov and Tatyana Doncheva said that the two parties decided to consolidate because the left wing in this form was ineffective and it was necessary to seek consolidation.
Movement 21 leader Tatyana Doncheva said that togetherness was their second most powerful weapon. She added the two parties would continue to keep their identity. “I think that the negotiations were very frank, even on issues that are a bit indelicate and divisive and we have no issues on which we cannot give you the answer,“ she said. Her party's three priorities are education, culture and radical judicial reform, she added.
ABV leader Konstantin Prodanov said that their aim was to offer a meaningful centre-left alternative with real, working messages.
The leaders from the new coalition also said that they were competitors to the Bulgarian Socialist Party and would not be its crutch in any form.
