Flu epidemic is declared in the districts of Pleven and Targovishte as of today, January 31. A restriction on visitors to hospitals is in place. Planned surgical operations, scheduled and non-urgent medical consultations for children and women have been suspended.
The first flu death this season was reported in the city of Rousse. A 49 year old man died from the complications of the type A influenza.
The regional health inspectorate in Rousse is expected to make a decision on declaring flu epidemic.
