Unemployment rate in Bulgaria is 9.9% in March 2016, “shrinking” by 0.16 percentage points compared to February, Bulgaria’s Employment Agency said on 15th of April.
In comparison with March 2015, the unemployment rate has dropped by 1.1 percentage points.
324,309 unemployed have registered in the job centres. The number decreased by 5,301 compared to February 2016. In comparison with February 2015, the number of unemployed is significantly smaller, by 37,202 people.
A total of 28,063 jobless people started work in March 2016., i.e. by 4,502 more compared to February. The number of people, who started jobs on the primary labour market and those under Operational Programme “Human Resources Development” has increased.
The unemployed who found jobs on the primary labour market are 21,562 people, i.e. by 4,245 more in comparison with the previous month.
The subsidized employment in March 2016 includes 6,501 people, which represents an increase by 257 people compared to the previous month and by 3,391 on an annual basis.
Labour demand on the primary market in the job centres continues to increase for the third consecutive month. In March 2016 most vacancies at the labour offices were announced by manufacturing industry (4124), from hotels and restaurants (3328), trade (3002), agriculture, forestry and fisheries (2194), from government (1656), transport (1508), from real estate sector (778). Construction business announced 736 vacancies, the administrative and auxiliary services (726), financial and insurance activities (307).
