A large fire is burning along the ridge of the Balkan Mountains on the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. The fire started yesterday, October 27, around midday. Four firefighting teams were deployed to extinguish the fire, BNR reported on October 28.
The Interior Ministry explained that dry grasses and shrubs were burning in the area of Golyama Chuka peak. A firefighting team from Serbia was sent to monitor the development of the fire. The Serbian authorities say they will join the extinguishing if necessary.
