In the first half of June we will recommend additional easing of the restrictive measures, Bulgaria’s Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kounchev said at the morning briefing on the coronavirus situation on May 28.
He clarified that wearing a protective mask around the neck does not help anything. The masks should be worn in indoors spaces.
Kounchev said that the national task force has proposed lifting of the compulsory 14 quarantine for Bulgarian and foreign nationals arriving to Bulgaria from some EU countries and from North Macedonia and Serbia.
However, the requirement for 14 day quarantine upon arrival in Bulgaria will remain in effect for the following 8 countries with the highest incidence of Covid-19 cases: Sweden, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Malta, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Sweden has had the highest prevalence of Covid-19 cases in Europe for a second week in a row.
The trend for the Balkan countries is towards fading away of the infection, he added.
