The 24-hour speed control operation carried out by Bulgaria’s Traffic Police began at 6.00 a.m on 18th of April.
By 11.00 a.m., 35 cases of driving in settlements at a speed exceeding 50 kilometers per hour were detected, as well as 84 other violations.
More than 170 offcers take part in the operation and are equipped with state-of-the-art cameras for detecting speed violations.
The aim of the operation is to highlight that speed is one of the main causes for serious road accidents. Checks are carried out in all Member States of the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL).
