Serious road accident involving a bus took place on 28th km on Trakia motorway, near Vakarel, in the morning on 13th of April. Six people died and 22 people were injured.
Ministry of Interior press office told BNT that most likely the bus has overturned. The accident was reported at 11.25. Traffic in the direction to Sofia is temporarily suspended.
Medical, fire-fighting and police teams are helping the injured passengers. Traffic police has arranged a route for the emergency teams.
The crashed bus is from the Union Ivconi company.
14 ambulances of the emergency medical service were sent to the scene of the accident. It was reported at 11.20 am, the first ambulance set off at 11.21 am. The Emergency teams transport the wounded to the nearest hospitals. The emergency departments of the District Hospital in Sofia, Pirogov Hospital and Military Medical Academy are in readiness to accept injured people from the accident. The ambulances are using the emergency corridors.
Bulgaria’s Minister of Health, Kiril Ananiev, expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims and thanked the Emergency Service teams and the medical institutions for the life-saving actions.
