Alexandrovska hospital in Sofia pauses scheduled non-emergency admissions

By order of Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate, the number of beds for Covid-19 patients in the University Hospital "Alexandrovska" is increased from 120 to 240, and 35 of them are provided for patients in intensive care. This necessitates reorganization of the clinics and reorientation of the teams to Covid units.

By order of the executive director Dr. Atanasov, as of 00.00 on October 21, 2021 the scheduled non-emergency surgical operations and planned admissions to the hospital will be temporarily suspended until the change of the epidemic situation.

Patients who need emergency treatment will not be refused, but those scheduled for non-emergency surgeries will be added to a waiting list, the medical institution said.
