Annual inflation rate for January, 2022, is at 9.1%, national staitstis

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, the consumer price index for January 2022 compared to December 2021 is at 101.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation is at 1.5%. Annual inflation rate for January 2022 compared to January 2021 is at 9.1%.

The average annual inflation for the period February 2021 to January 2022 compared to the period February 2020 to January 2021 is at 4.1%.

In January 2022, prices of goods and services in consumer groups changed from the previous month as follows:

• food and non-alcoholic beverages - up by 2.4%;
• alcoholic beverages and tobacco products - 0.2% increase;
• clothing and footwear - decrease by 1.8%;
• housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels – increased by 1.4%;
• household furnishings, household appliances and supplies and ordinary household maintenance - up by 1.2%;
• health care – increased by 0.4%;
• transport – increased by 0.6%;
• Communications - prices remain at last month's level;
• entertainment and culture – d by 3.8%;
• education – increased by.2%;
• restaurants and hotels – increased by 2.3%;
• miscellaneous goods and services – increased by 1.7%.
