The decision of the British people is clear. The separation with the European Union is a long process, Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said on 24th of June, commenting on the UK’s vote to leave EU.
Mitov said that we should not allow the domino effect in the EU and populism and nationalism to dominate over common sense. He added that we were witnessing a nation divided into two – to be an EU member or not. This deep division will affect the UK and it will affect EU as well, he said. The Bulgarian government will issue a clear and well structured position on the results of the referendum. Emotions are unnecessary at the moment, Mitov concluded.
