Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev is on a visit to Hungary at the invitation of his Hungarian counterpart János Áder, with whom he had a one-to-one meeting on June 14. The two held plenary talks between the official delegations of Bulgaria and Hungary.
Presidents Radev and Ader discuss topics from the regional, European and international agenda as well as cooperation in the areas of defence, security and migration.
Last year's exchange of goods between Bulgaria and Hungary was worth 1.6 m euros and registered an increase by 5.3%.
For 2018, Hungary ranks second in the flow of foreign direct investment in Bulgaria after the Netherlands. It is widely believed that there is a potential for increasing Hungarian investment in information and communication technologies, infrastructure, viticulture and wine making, as well as in tourism.
The presidents of Bulgaria and Hungary are also discussing the prospects of the Western Balkan countries for integration into the European Union and NATO.
Earlier today, President Radev held talks with Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
