Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev is on a working visit to Russia. On 21st of May, the visit of President Rumen Radev to Russia begins with a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow. They will discuss Russian-Bulgarian trade-economic and cultural cooperation, as well as implementation of joint projects in the energy, industry and transport sectors.
In the evening, the Bulgarian head of state will watch the opera "Siegfried" by Richard Wagner at the Bolshoi Theatre performed by Sofia Opera and Ballet. Later in the embassy, the President will talk with distinguished Bulgarian and Russian cultural and public figures.
On 22nd of May, Rumen Radev will fly to Sochi, where he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Bocharov Ruchei Residence. They will also lead the plenary talks of the official delegations.
Rumen Radev is among the first statesmen to talk to Vladimir Putin after his inauguration for fourth term as Russian President. At the end of last week, Putin met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Sochi. A visit by French President Emmanuel Macron is forthcoming

The meeting between the presidents of Bulgaria and Russia is the first after nearly a 10-year pause. The latest visit to Moscow was in 2009 by then then Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov. Russian President Vladimir Putin was on an official visit to Bulgaria in January 2008.
