Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov participated in the Pontifical Service in the Cathedral of the German town of Aachen on 10th of May. The prime minister is in Aachen at a personal invitation of the French President, Emmanuel Macron, for the ceremony of awarding the annual International Charlemagne Prize.
Upon his arrival to the Pontifical Service, the prime minister greeted the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, French President, Emmanuel Macron, and Spanish King Felipe.
Later, Prime Minister Borissov talked with the President of the European Central Bank, Mario Draghi.
Borissov and Draghi discussed Bulgaria's willingness to join the eurozone,. During the meeting, Borisov pointed out the country's good macroeconomic, fiscal and financial indicators.
Excellent cooperation between the ECB and the Ministry of Finance and Bulgaria’s central bank, BNB, was also noted, the government press office announced.
