Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met with European Parliament Speaker Antonio Tajani, who is in Sofia for the EU-Western Balkans Summit, the press office of the Cabinet said on 16th of May.
Borissov pointed out that Tajani’s presence is a great respect for both Bulgaria and the countries that will be in the focus of the debates of the European leaders on 16th and 17th of May in Sofia.
He said he relied on the support of the European Parliament for keeping the topic for the development of the countries of the region among the priority policies after the end of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The EP President congratulated the Bulgarian Prime Minister for the successful holding of the Presidency and welcomed Bulgaria's work to focus on the Western Balkans. Antonio Tajani confirmed Parliament's commitment to support the European perspective of the states, to promote dialogue between them and to implement the necessary reforms.
