Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is on a one-day visit to Pristina on 16th of April. He met with Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci. The two discussed the European path of the Western Balkan countries and ensuring peace and security in the region.
We are both unanimous that infrastructure and digital connectivity projects between the six Balkan countries and the European Union will accelerate the development of our countries, Borisov wrote in the social network.
The Balkans should change according to EU criteria in order to be accepted in the Union and to use its funds, Borissov said in Pristina. He called for a dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina so that the two countires can solve the problems because only then can they apply for EU membership.
Borissov said he hoped that Skopje and Athens will resolve the problem with the name of the Republic of Macedonia. The Bulgarian PM stressed that transport corridors 8 and 10, which pass through Bulgaria and Kosovo, are important for connecting Kosovo with the European Union.
Hashim Thaci handed Boyko Borissov a medal in honour of the 10th anniversary of Kosovo's independence. The medal award ceremony was published on Borissov's Facebook page. During theone-day visit to Pristina, Prime Minister Borissov will also meet with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj as well as EU Head of EU Delegation in Kosovo Natalia Apostolova.
