The caretaker government has adopted Bulgaria's National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Tomorrow it will be presented to the European institutions, caretaker Prime Minister, Stefan Yanev and caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds, Atanas Pekanov, told media on October 14, 2021.

With the projects and mechanisms in it, Bulgaria may receive almost BGN 13 billion for post-crisis recovery. The plan includes about 59 investment measures and 46 reforms.

"I think we have defended this BGN 12.9 billion for Bulgaria, despite the difficult legacy and the unprecedented political situation," said Minister Pekanov.

The plan is a programme for long-term investment and reforms. They will allow Bulgaria to be more competitive, will increase the welfare of citizens, he said.

It is an EU instrument to help recover from a crisis.

The total resource under the plan is BGN 12.9 billion, which will activate BGN 8.1 billion additional investments. It contains 59 investment projects and 46 reforms. They will serve both to strengthen economic and social sustainability and to rebuild the economy and increase our long-term potential.

The plan is not just projects and resources, it will boost reforms, the minister added.

Stefan Yanev described the adoption of the Plan as a timely act.

"The implementation of what we have undertaken as a priority of the caretaker cabinet and given the situation in the country, this plan should be a tool that works in the interest of Bulgarian citizens to solve a number of social problems and give impetus to the Bulgarian economy and business for their development and modernization in the spirit of the trends of the 21st century and in the spirit of the need to develop the country towards an economy that is more productive," caretaker Prime Minister said.

All this was done with the efforts of the entire cabinet, the experts of almost all ministries, in coordination with representatives of business and various branch organizations, in coordination with political parties.

"We are confident that what we are doing is a conscious act, an act of responsibility to Bulgarian citizens, and I am glad that this is happening today," he added.
