Bulgaria and UAE exchange foods and medical supplies

Bulgaria delivered 32 tonnes of food provided by domestic companies to the United Arab Emirates last night. In gratitude, the UAE provided 15 tonnes of medical supplies to Bulgaria.

Two airplanes with Bulgarian vegetables, meat and dairy products landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport in the evening on April 12. The shipment was provided by Bulgarian companies, coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and accompanied by the Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov. He conveyed the products to the special envoy to the Crown Prince, Minister Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.

Emil Karanikolov, Minister of Economy: Our Prime Minister's two visits with the Crown Prince were precisely focused in this area – exchange of goods and trade. Now business shows that it has understood us - the motives of the governments and the most important thing - they help our peoples.

Minister Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh thanked for the support, focusing on the joint efforts of the two countries to mitigate the economic and social impact of the coronavirus pandemic worldwide.

I am truly grateful for your visit. We are all one nation in this virus attack. I think this is a message to the world - that together we can meet the needs of our peoples and together we can make our nations strong now and after this problem is over, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh said.

In return for the Bulgarian aid, the UAE provided 15 tonnes of medical supplies – face masks, gloves, disinfectants and clothing.
