Bulgaria issues weather alert over snow for April 1

The forecast is for complicated weather conditions in the next day – cold temperatures, strong wind and snowfall.

Rainfall in many parts of the country will turn into snow, with more significant snow cover expected in Western Bulgaria. The wind will be moderate to strong in Northeast of the country.

On Wednesday, April 1, it will snow almost everywhere in the country, with the exception of Southeastern Bulgaria and the Black Sea. In the southern regions, the snow will be will be wet and heavy.

The snow cover will continue to increase and will be thickest in Smolyan and Blagoevgrad districts - up to 15-20 cm.

In the areas for which code yellow alert is declared, the snow cover is expected to reach about 10-15 cm.
