On 9th of May, Bulgaria marks the Day of Europe. A ceremony of raising the flag of the European Union was held in front of Bulgaria’ Presidency.
It was attended by Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliana Yotova and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Evtimov.
In a video message on Europe Day, Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said
that Europe is "the best place in the world to live, the most democratic,
with the most solidarity and most rights for its people". Borissov urges
his counterparts to do their best to make sure that after the Covid-19 pandemic
"we regain what we had: solidarity, strength and prosperity", he
said.
Ninety-three musicians and choir members of the Sofia
Phylharmonic recorded a video with a performance of the Ode to Joy on Europe
Day. Each one of them made a video of his or her part and the videos were then
put together. The video was broadcast on BNT.
