This year the motto is "Our Strength, Our Planet"
For the 56th time, the world is marking Earth Day.
Against the backdrop of alarming statistics on global warming, tens of thousands of initiatives will see over 1 billion people attempting to encourage more active protection of the planet. Earth Day was first held in 1970 as an environmental protest in the United States, but is now observed in 196 countries, including Bulgaria.
This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet.”
