A ceremony of raising the flag of the European Union was held in front of Bulgaria’ Presidency on the occasion of Europe Day, 9th of May.
Bulgaria’s Head of State and Supreme Commander-in-chief, President Roumen Radev received the report of the commander of the Guard of Honour and greeted the guards.
The flag was hoisted while the national anthem of Bulgaria and the anthem of Europe were played.
The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of Bulgaria’s Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva; Vice-president Iliana Yotova; Deputy Prime Minister Krassimir Karakachanov; Minister Lilyana Pavlova, BSP leader Kornelia Ninova; Head of EC Representation in Bulgaria Ognian Zlatev; Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova; Chief of Defence General Andrei Botev and parliamentarians.
