Bulgaria’s Ministry of Transport said on 3rd of June that it formally opened the concession procedure for the country’s largest airport in the capital Sofia.
The term of the concession is 35 years.
The future concessionaire is required to make an initial lump-sum payment of 550 million BGN excluding VAT and to have had prior experience as an airport operator in at least one international airport with passenger traffic of minimum 6 million people per year, the ministry said.
The future concessionaire is also expected to invest 307 million BGN in the airport, to build a new terminal 1 with seven jet bridges.
