Bulgaria will receive 8% more European funding in the next programming period to deal with polluted air, Bulgaria’s Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov said on 30th of July in Plovdiv.
To this end, according to the Minister, by 2023 our country is possible to absorb more than BGN 110 million for replacing the massively used now solid fuel for heating with electricity, gas or district heating. Work will be done so that the necessary funds can reach the final consumer – the households.
Clean air is a priority of the ministry, the minister said. For one year, air pollution in Plovdiv is three times higher than the permissible norms. It is important that it can be a beneficiary of the Operational Programme to solve this problem, he added.
