The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 5,863 from 51,688 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on October 26.
This the highest number of daily new cases and deaths since the start of the fourth wave of the pandemic in the country.
Test positivity rate is at 11.3%.
The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 575,306.
The active cases are 82,910.
Of the total, 7,128 patients are in hospitals, 600 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
· 2,022 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 469,080
· 15,166 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 2,728,389
· 243 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 23,316
Of the daily cases, 86.58% had not been vaccinated.
Of those who died, 96.30% had not been vaccinated.
There were 1,379 new hospitalisations, of which 90.72% had not been vaccinated.
*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination with 2 shots.
