Bulgaria’s government allocated 2.5m BGN to Turkey for migrants on its territory. The funds are under the Facility for Refugees agreed between Brussels and Ankara and for the fourth and fifth installments, respectively BGN 1,942,538, to be paid by July 2, 2018 and BGN 597,704, which should be transfered by October2.
The total EU assistance under the facility is € 6 billion, of which Bulgaria participates with € 5,876,945, or 0.1%.
The aim of the facility to alleviate the migratory pressure on the border of Bulgaria and the EU with Turkey, with the funds allocated to meet the urgent needs of humanitarian assistance to refugees and host communities in Turkey.
