In an extraordinary sitting on 26th of June, Bulgaria’s Parliament will debate the motion of no-confidence against the government. The motion was tabled by the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party over failures in the security sector.
This is the second no-confidence vote against the third government of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
The centre-left are attacking the government because they believe it cannot provide the country's public order and national security.
The motives for the no-confidence motion also include significant decline of the public confidence in the work of the Interior Ministry, undetected murders, crime against households, prisoners' escapes, telephone frauds. Also, according to the left-wing, there is corruption in the ministry of defence, there is a failure in the defense and the modernization of the army.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) said they would support the vote.
GERB and United Patriots from the ruling coalition will vote against the motion. They believe that it is inappropriate and the government should have a full term in office. Volya party will also not support the vote.
The calculations show that GERB and the United Patriots have a total of 122 MPs and can reject the vote of no confidence.
