Prison employees in Bulgaria say they are ready to protest effectively from the beginning of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of EU in 2018. A decision was taken on 3rd of November by the trade union organisation in the sector, which gathered in Plovdiv.
Next week, a statement of employees' intentions will be sent to Parliament. If no funds are found for a 20% increase in wages and opening of new jobs by the first reading of the budget law, symbolic protests will begin.
If, after a second reading, their demands are not met, effective protests will start.
