Bulgaria's PM Borissov: The Only Salvation for the EU is to Be United

The Presidency of Bulgaria is successful. Nobody remembers names, but they remember the word Bulgaria as a successful presidency. Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said at a press conference after the end of the EU-Western Balkans summit on 17^th of May.

If the Western Balkans embody a country, it will be, in terms of GDP, 96 billion euros. For comparison - this is the GDP of Slovakia. Today, all these two days of joy, sorrow, and effort we make is to accept for example, an economy as Slovakia’s with a population less than Romania. Are these the big fears for the EU, is it not better these people to negotiate with the EU or leave them, Borissov asked.

It has become clear to everyone that with the problems we have with geostrategic players, the only salvation of the EU is to be united and as Angela said a sheet should not pass between us. The strength of the EU is in this. I am happy about the many agreements the leaders of the Western Balkans have signed.
