bulgaria’s prime minister nominated zornitsa rusinova labour minister

On 13th of May, Zornitsa Rusinova, the current Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy, was named by Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to take the post of the Minister.Borissov’s motives for the nomination were that she had worked for a long time in the labour ministry and was a well-acknowledged specialist.

The announcement came a day after the parliamentary leader of GERB party, Tsvetan Tsvetanov from GERB proposed Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of EU funds, as a possible candidate for the vacant ministerial post, but Donchev refused.

Borissov said that he proposed Rusinova because he wanted to have continuity in the ministry and appoint a person with whom Ivailo Kalfin (who resigned) had worked well. Borissov denied that Rusinova was named for the job because Donchev had refused it.
