Caretaker Prime Minister, Stefan Yanev, on July 13 met with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Rashid Ali Hassan Al-Khater. On the occasion of the end of the term of office of the Ambassador in Sofia, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for his contribution in strengthening bilateral relations over the past five years.
The caretaker Prime Minister was adamant that Bulgaria considers the State of Qatar to be one of its most important partners in the Persian Gulf region. Evidence of bilateral friendly relations are the numerous high-ranking visits in recent years, and contacts between Bulgaria and Qatar remain active, despite the challenges of the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
Prime Minister Stefan Yanev praised Ambassador Rashid Ali Hassan Al-Khater for the bilateral dialogue and stressed the potential to build upon co-operation in the interests of the prosperity of the two countries. During the conversation, the advantages of Bulgaria, which is a stable and secure country and a predictable international partner, were also highlighted.
