Chair of Energy Regulator Assures CEZ Deal will not Affect Electricity Prices

The chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission Ivan Ivanov assured that regardless of the outcome of the sale of CEZ, the public interest will be guaranteed.

On 14^th of March he said the regulator would be very critical towards the requests for new electricity prices from July 1, which the three energy companies - CEZ, EVN and Energo Pro - will submit by the end of March to the commission.

Ivan Ivanov says that the deal and eventual transfer of the shares from the current owner CEZ ACE Prague to a new owner, no matter who it is, will in no way affect the price of the electricity and the cost of the network services. I state this responsibly as chairman of EWRC, he noted.
