Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on March 18 held a telephone conversation with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The two leaders discussed their countries' efforts to limit the spread of the new coronavirus.
Li Keqiang has said that China is ready to provide assistance to Bulgaria in the form of donation of masks, goggles, gloves and other protective gear. Similar assistance will be provided under a European Commission scheme, from which Bulgaria will also be able to benefit as a member state.
He also said that China is ready to assist Bulgaria in contacting Chinese manufacturers of protective equipment and ventilators, so that Bulgaria can buy such products through the agency of the ministries of economy and trade of the two countries.
Borissov thanked Li and the Chinese government for a previous donation of 12,000 disposable masks and 2,000 special masks provided to Bulgaria and stressed that our country highly appreciates the readiness stated by China to support the international community in the efforts to combat the epidemic.
